french pastry

#1 pastries from random in paris
#2 macarons from angelinas (not quite as yummy as pierre herme or lauduree). On my way home from Paris I brought back macarons from pierre herme and angelinas and the hermes survived (they were in a sturdy box) while the angelinas were crushed....) I wish i had bought more macarons!

seeing that we got engaged in paris, why not go with a french theme? im super excited for all the little pastries, macarons, champagne, cafe, flowers, fashion, food we will try to incorporate!!!! this little board basically sums up a majority of what i envision!

#31

Ferris wheel at Concorde, hipstamatic, taken by moi
I've been in Paris for almost 3 months and I only have 31 posts...tsk tsk.
The rain stopped for the most part last week but began again saturday night. SOO COLLDDDDDD. and since it gets dark so early I hate doing anything outside. hmmp.

I officially have exactly 1 month left in this city. What is left for me to do? This city has started to become my home and I feel like I am getting lazy about doing things...BUT you all know I'll do something about it!

It's exam week at school so we basically have the whole week off! I have internships all week so the only days I have off are Thursday (Turkey day!!) and Saturday! I'll be on set of a tv program tomorrow--something about Michael Jackson, Friday is a makeover party at the Gap (yeah Americain!), and Sunday is another defile (fashion show)! I guess they are trying to have us 3 monthers get the most out of our time left at the school!

I still haven't bought flowers here yet for myself. I was hoping visitor #1 & #2 would have bought me flowers but those boys are SLOW~~~~haha.

I have so much shopping to do before I leave! Gifts for all (unless I end up eating it all before). I plan on buying teas, soaps, chocolates, & a couple of wines.

Speaking of wines...I've been a serious wino. I drink 1/2-1 bottle a night about a few times a week....hehe it's the best when the weather outside is cold!!

more updates to come

M C B

My estage (internship) on monday was at the MCB (mondial coiffure beaute) which is a big hair show with vendors like l'oreal, kerastase, redken etc etc

we worked backstage for Schwarzkopf which my mom actually uses in her salon so I was super excited!!

I didn't have a camera or my iphone on me so no pictures....for now!

HAPPY 11/11

JEUDI MORNING RANDOMS ROUND 1: CARREFOUR EDITION

look at what I woke up to this morning...the skies here amaze me everyday despite the ugly rain

the yaourt aisle. never ceases to amaze me. why don't we have this in the us???

I'm counting down the days to when the beaujolais wines come out....oh la la

je suis desolee

I fooking suck at updating this thing.
I think it's mostly cause I know no one reads it and I'm too lazy to write out everything...whyyyy?

Anyways, Octobre (no that isnt a spelling mistake) was an amazing month for me. My brother came for three weeks. I saw him launch his magazine at Colette with Larry Clark, I had someone to go to cafes & eat crazy delicious things with, and we reflected on how far we've both come considering this has been both of our dreams for so long.

After my brother left, my boyfriend came during my much needed holiday from school. Low and behold, on the third day he was here he proposed to me in front of the Eiffel Tower. I'm not very good with sappy moments, but if I could go back I would have screamed and did the whole jumping up thing (and worn a cuter outfit hehe).
et voila! the ring!

I'm screaming with joy inside right now...but once again I am alone. I have a little over a month left here in good ol' Paris, and I hope to eat and see as many things. I just hope it doesn't rain too much!!!

INTERNSHIP. I took these pictures (my favorite looks from the whole show) from my first internship for a hair show at Cirque d'Hiver for Michel Dervyn. It was amazing!

10/10/10

well...actually its 10/11 here Paris time.

Missing all my family and friends mostly because I am sick!!!! I'm dying a slow, slow death

I haven't updated in a bit but I guess that it is a good thing because I've been busy actually doing things and not glued to my only friend, my computer :)

Fashion week has been over for a few days, I was so happy to sit second row(!!!) at Elie Saab, had a blast at the launching of my brother's magazie (DDD & met Catherine Baba!) and a lot of other fab things I can't remember at the moment...

Oh! I went to Versailles this past weekend with my out of town friends....AMAZING! I will update with pics of the Takashi Murakami exhibit! I got in for free because I am a student! haha highlight of my weekend!

Day 2

I didn't go to bed until around 330 am last night (morning) I ended up sleeping in till about 1130 (for those who know me really well...you know that I hate waking up that late!)

I tried the yogurt I bought yesterday. SO DELICIOUS, SO CREAMY! I never finish the yogurts I get at home because for some reason my gag reflexes start kicking in but this one goes down so smoothly and vanilla flavor is so yummy! I did some research on french yogurts (yourt) so I'm going to try some other brands soon! Also, the cute little glass bottles they come in work well to hold my makeup and pens and I read online somewhere someone using them as souvenirs to give to their friends as tea light holders!

Today my girl roommate and I went to parc de sceaux which used to be the land of some royalty (i'll research it more later!). The land/parc is humongous...I can't even begin to describe, so I'll post pictures when I go back again. The sky here seems so much closer to the groud, so it's pretty and calming. Maybe once I start making friends I can go have picnics there...hehe.

Because of sleeping in I didn't get to run my errands (like going to the bank etc) so I guess I'll have to do that tomorrow!

Found the magazine/book store today! French Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour etc are 2.50 euros! Not bad, not bad! Can't wait to go back and buy some!

-EDIT-
I went to monoprix (store that sells almost everything) and got a premade caffe latte (like those bottle starbucks frapps) and a croissant (so flaky!). I was looking in the ice cream bin before I bought those things and while I was standing in line, the security guard came up to me. At first I thought he was asking me if I stole an icecream (I put it back when I saw the coffee) but it was actually because I didn't shut the freezer door to the icecream bin all the way! ROOKIE mistake #2. Ha! I kept saying "sorry" and he eventually discovered that I had only arrived in France yesterday. woops.

I called my mom today and she keeps telling me how sad she is which is so new to me because she didn't even shed a tear when I graduated hs and went off to college. Thanks for the love, folks! She says when she gets home she opens the doors and yells my name and no one responds :( But both of my parents are really happy for me and I think it makes them super happy to say that they have a child who's studying abroad!

my uniform?

PACKING. UGH! packing is so hard especially with limited space and an option loving person like me. everything i have been packing i have to imagine when/where/& how many times i can wear it because i am not going to lug 2 full immigration luggage bags across paris! so far i have a lot of jackets...its kind of nuts, and i totally get it from my dad who probably has bought every single black jacket from every brand out there. they look the same, but to him they arent and i completely understand!
so overall everything i have packed is much more glam than what i wear here...mostly because i feel like people there will appreciate more, and i have been buying things over the year with "Oh, I can totally wear this in Paris" and imagining myself walking the cobblestone streets with a beret and latte in hand. i know it's not going to be like that, so i need to wake up from that dream! haha!

so these are my dreaaaaaaaaaam outfits. the olsen twins. ugh, i worship them. leather moto shearling, i die (and not because of the cold!) leather black boots, fur = i want it allllllll

anywho, i'll try to post pics of myself there (my roommate is a photographer, what!) but knowing me i am completely lying right now cause i am terribly shy when asking others to take a picture of just me.

PARIS. Bonjour!

Everyone has a damn blog for everything, no? Well here's me adding another 2 cents into the interwebs!
I honestly have no clue what to expect for the duration of my stay in Paris. All I know is that there are a lot of cafes, croissants, wine, cheese, and skinny bitches. So feel free to laugh, cry, and ponder these new experiences I will come across and add your 2 cents! I am open to any suggestions regarding food, fashion, beauty, events, and cultural norms/etiquette!
Merci! xoxo
